Hmm, not much point in installing it since this boot partition will get hosed when my new mobo comes in next week.

Haven't totally decided yet but I'm probably going XP on the new system now that I've learned to tame the beast's worst traits.

Actually Acrobat retail (at least 4.0, don't have 5) will only save as a PDF or export as a Postscript file.

Well the deed is done: new mobo & CPU on order.... Thanks for everyone's advise!!!

Ordered the following from NewEgg: - IWill XP333 mobo - AMD XP 2000+ CPU OEM (ARGHHHH my first OEM CPU!) - Dr. Thermal TI-V77L HSF Also ordered a Vantec Iceberg chipset cooler as a backup in case the mobo chipset fan fails down the road, or I have any more problems with my Geforce 3's cooler (Vision...

BTW there ARE links to pictures in there - may not be obvious since they're farther down the page. Some of them are CLASSIC! Idiot neighbor threw a cigarette out his back window during the winter (no snow but grass was brown and dry in hibernation) and set his whole backyard on fire... LOL! http://w...

My wife's is the expensive one (women cost health ins companies MUCH more than men... hmmm....). When I signed up 3 years ago it was 250 for me and 350 for her. They raised it once for her already and then they switched plans this month. As I understand it (in Florida at least) you can't get $250 de...

May sound stupid, but make sure there's no floppy in the drive. That's the error you get when you try to boot off a floppy formatted in NT/2K/XP with no boot files on it :)

Dumb message - can't understand why Microsoft doesn't just TELL YOU you left a non-bootable floppy in your drive....

I'm on BC/BS as well, and not to defend them too much but we were warned about this months ago - around January. If you're on a similar plan as me, they phased out the old PPO and the old deductable (I used to have $250 deductable but they've made $500 the minimum now). This was all effective as of ...

From all the reviews I'm pretty much totally sold on the XP333. Just waiting on a check that's coming in. Debating spending the extra money on the RAID version - it's not much, but it'd be nice to have although I decided I'm not going RAID on the new system - at least not for now. I was going to kee...

Run REGEDIT and delete the entire registry entry called HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\enum. This will essentially wipe your Device manager clean, forcing Windows to redetect all devices upon the next bootup. There's a few gotchas when you move a hard drive with an exist OS installed to a new motherboard. 98 &a...

What Pred said - the numbers just don't add up. I'd gladly stay with Intel but the XP 2000 is hands down right now a LOT of bang for the buck, and an equivalent P4 would cost more than I want to spend. Things have changed. AMD CPUs are better supported by Windows and applications - comparably to Int...
