Re: Spinrite 6.1 Alpha Release 8
Yeah I just downloaded the newer version yesterday. I wish there was an option to check hard drives via a USB connection.

Re: Was hoping to get away with this !
What model of Dell Vostro? I've only taken 1 part: Dell Vostro 3700. It had Windows 7, which I sold as a used laptop after taking it apart. I've sold over 100 used laptops so far on Facebook Market place. I've even sold 2 that had Linux on them. I usually open them up so I can clean the insides, re-...

Los - may I ask what you paid for that truck? I don't think I need a "platinum" series. A XLT model would be fine for me.

Re: Insane new Lincoln 48-inch wide dashboard display
I miss the cars from the late 60's and early 70's. Easy to work on with no fluff. I'll be in the market for another car. I currently have a 2016 Subaru Outback. Very nice car, but it's not comfortable for me when I drive 100+ miles. I get out and my back hurts. I played around with the seat adjustme...

Re: sometimes you cant win (wifes)
If it has windows 7, you will not be able to upgrade to 10; however, there is a workaround: https://massgrave.dev/index.html#Download__How_to_use_it I've already had to use it twice on some win 7 laptops that were never upgraded to 10. Windows 10 has only another year before it goes away, so I don't...

Re: the 50 inch tv just died .
I had a Sony with a decent Sony sound bar, but the damn thing would not work 100% with the Samsung TV, so I had to shell out $ for a Samsung sound bar. Bastards!

LOL same here. I retired in May 2020, and the wife retired in 2015. I actually retired 1 year earlier than I wanted, but at the height of the Wu-Flu, I decided to retire in May when I turned 65. My only jobs now are doing things around the house, playing video games, and repairing laptops that I sel...

Re: Recommended Pre- built PC
So is Samsung going the route of their crappy house appliances like refrigerators? Don't ever by a frig from Samsung. We had one brand new that lasted only 2 years. We also had problems with their washing machine. Had to get a tech from Samsung to come out and install additional hardware to the top ...

You can check your HD with this free utility: https://macrorit.com/disk-surface-test/ ... -test.html
I use it to check for bad sectors of a drive. It even works if you have your HD on a USB connection. You can also use the Windows one as an admin C prompt: chkdsk /r
