will it pass Prime95 at 1650mhz and at what volts was it running ? also as you check it with prime95 , could you till me peak temp it hits as you test it .

sounds like you need to back off that OC on the CPU some .

if it's a used board , reset the bios . New board , then if you hear on boot a long beep with a hit on the end ( beeeeebeep) it V-card or Memory not setted good .

I added 2 120mm fans to my side cover , to blow at the CPU and V-card and made a filter box on the outside to keep some of the dust out . I was having the same type of problem , i reinstalled win98 and it went away . it would say IE error , do you want to restart IE .

256megs - 512megs , seem to be the best . Also ram is dirt cheap now , so buy PC133 cas2 , PC150 cas2 , PC166 cas2 or faster if you need it or not .

i use the old 513 ver driver and DX8 with win98 , i get the fastest times with 3dmarks with it and a higher frame rate in quake3 . Also the best program to OC a TNT2 seem to be TNTCLK with win98 , as for AGP Aperature on my setup i have it set to 256 and apg at 1x .

only 1700 here , but i just have a TNT2U and P3 700E oc 958mhz with Win98

yes it did , I run the text ver of seti and run it on a ram drive to get the work unit done faster . My P3 700E OC 958mhz do it in a little under 6 hours a unit .

I have a Taisol CGK742 , is that the same as your heatsink fan setup ?
