Re: Audacity Is Now A Possible Spyware
Looks like Muse Group responded to the accusations: Audacity owner Muse Group responds to ‘spyware’ claims regarding the free and open-source audio editor https://www.musicradar.com/news/audacity-spyware-claims TL;DR, 'unclear phrasing' in the legal agreements, we're not collecting your data to sell...

Re: Audacity Is Now A Possible Spyware
I don't understand why companies think they can get away with this with FOSS software. Figured they would have learned their lesson from OpenOffice and Sun/Oracle.

Re: It's Official: Windows 11
Did you ever try Linux Mint for gaming or just general use? I have that installed on a spare laptop about 2-3 years back. Currently running version 20.1. Never heard of "Pop!_OS". Any links? I'd like to install it in a VM to check out. I've honestly been all over the place in Linux distro...

Re: It's Official: Windows 11
"Windows 10 is going to be the last operating system!" lol guess they lied. I'm using this as the final straw that pushes me over the edge. I installed Pop!_OS on my laptop a couple of days ago. They just released 21.04. I have to admit, I've been pretty impressed. Pop!_OS automatically in...

My thoughts and prayers to you and her, FP. I'm happy that you at least got to see her before she passed, but damn....

Even though they donated it, I hope they still nail them to the wall.

Re: Wvjohn has passed away...
I hope that his family finds peace as well in these trying times... We went through this last year with my mom's husband... Found out he had cancer right before Thanksgiving, and he passed away a few days after my mom's birthday in mid January... it's hard for everyone involved. The person suffering...

Re: The doctors have run lots of tests on me and the news is not good.
I haven't been online much lately for reasons, but just hopped on to see updates on this thread. I am so sorry to hear that John is not doing as well as we all hoped. But I love the idea of the card and the floppies. This is one of the best groups of people that I am so pleased to be a part of. One ...

Re: Future changes to Chrome
I stopped using Firefox when it lost all of my bookmarks, and nuked the backups. I've been using Chrome since at least 2010, and it is so embedded in my daily routine I don't know what I am going to do if they don't back down on this. I checked out Brave on my spare laptop and it seems okay. I could...

Re: How Microsoft made it harder to create Windows 10 local accounts (in Oct 2018 Build 1809 feature update)
I honestly hated seeing the 'Create an Online Account' stuff all the way back in the original Windows 10 versions, so I just make it a point to keep my computer off the net until after I have the local user created. Honestly never noticed this on 1809... actually, I think I just skipped 1809. I just...

Thank you for keeping us updated, Darcy. I don't know what the PCA family would do without you and your constant support.
