For my 2000 install it doesnt really take that long to boot up, I will time it the next time I boot. I would say about a minute or so. And even then I just leave the room while it boots up.

FlyingPenguin is right about the socket 754. The reason I bough a 754 was because I said yeah I could always upgrade to a 64 and now I realize I wont even need to upgrade to a 64. If I was gonna stick with a sempron I should have gotten a Socket A board and an Athlon. Damn I was stupid!

I bought a socket 754 for my sempron 3000+ Palermo core, so if I ever felt the need to upgrade to an A64. Now I kind of think that was stupid, and that I should have gotten a socket A Athlon XP 2800+ because it has 4 times the amount of L2 cache, and 64 bit isnt really that mainstream yet.

So if you had a bootlegged version you would have had to tell them where you got it from to be able to install the updates, or would it lock up your system?

Yeah once I get a copy of XP pro I will probably just use that. But I just use what I get through my dad's company, soon they are gonna use XP so thats when I will have it. But I mean 2000 pro is just soo sleek and clean, not soo bulky, and super fast!
