My Boy Scout troop (211 Olney, IL) is in need of a cheap laptop for record keeping. It needs the following:

Win 98
1+ gig hd
CD or DVD drive
Floppy drive
64 meg ram
a nic card would be nice

I need to find a dvd drive (could be cdrom I guess) that can keep up with my plexor 16x recorder so I can copy disk-to-disk at full speed. Anyone have any suggestions?

I defrag weekly. I also run scandisk at the same time.
