I see your point.
Could you point out where I can find the better mobo? This computer is for someone who does not want/need the extra SATA ports, so perhaps this might be a better idea.
Also....what's the best heatsink for this that is less than 40.00?

Hmm....
I'm looking to get a P133 box for the purpose of learning Linux. Does anyone know of an inexpensive, easy to use, GUI based version of linux? Prefferably one for REALLY old machines?

Mac Forever!

For value on a work/school laptop, I still go to apple. Their cases are strong, the innards are mounted on rubberized gimbals, at 5 lbs they're light, and at 1050$ for one with a G4 800mhz they're affordable, too. Sure, most games will not run on them, but all I ever play is BG2 and Diablo 2 anyway,...

Nah, I use a Palm IIIc with 8mb of ram. It works great for recording memos, which is all I really use it for. It also holds lots of Palm games.
I, for one, belive that you should only pay for what you use!

I have heard the 9200 Pro/Standard (NOT SE/LE) is more than a match. And you can find one with 128 mb of ram for about 50$.
I would also like to see what the folks around here think.

How much is right?

Just wondering, but how much is the right amount in your opinion? I always heard to use about 1/2 a 3 gram tube of the Arctic silver 5 stuff, but you probbably know better than I do.

@#$@#$@#$!@

Crap. I'm not biulding this computer for an overclocker, so maybe the SP98 would be overkill. Then again, I have hade all sorts of troubles with CPU overheating, and spending 60$ on a heatsink to save a 260$ processor just seems like a good idea. Thanks a bunch for your advice! P.S. my teacher might...
