I have to agree with Slugbait on this one. Having a degree, any degree, even if you never plan on using it, will help you all around. Many employers don't really care that your field of study doesn't match with the position for which you are applying. They only care that you have a higher education....

If you decide to buy an HD-ready TV make sure that it has plenty of connections (such as DVI, firewire, component, VGA) so that once a standard is agreed upon, your TV will support it. Then when the switch to digital becomes mandated you won't have to shell out more money for a new TV or an adapter....

It really depends on the application. If you are looking for better sound quality a sound card upgrade won't help much.
