Thanks , yea I guess so but I thought I could switch back and forth through software but that isnt the case. asus doesnt give me any info at first now they say its not possible to use both. oh and quicksilvr make sure you know what bios chip you have and what kind of motherboard etc...you need to have all the info correct to order from them....
you can email them and ask questions etc... before ordering...
I dont know about emachines etc.. so check that out...

Hi quicksilvr , I had the same thing happen to me 3 weeks ago or so... It was a bad flash so I ordered a new bios chip from badflash http://www.badflash.com/ check them out they were great to deal with and free shipping ...I live in Canada so It cost me a bit more on duty and taxes $9.80 I think?......

Ok thanks guys I think I got it fixed.
I flashed the bios from windows using the update utility.
It was the same version number but the old one must have been corrupted already or something.
I can get into the bios now most times anyway...

Hey everyone, I just got a new mobo an ASUS A7V8X-X which is running an amd xp 2100 (14 months old) my msi mobo fried. anyway I have never had an asus and it works fine in windows xp pro, the problem is I cannot get into the bios ! I think I got it working now...does Internet connection sharing have anything to do with it?
anyway its working for now...still says disconnected on the status webpage and on the router setup cdrom.

both computers can surf the net but I cant see either one on the network now.. one is running win xp and I disabled the firewall the other is win me. I ran the network wizard on both and still no luck. but at least the internet is working on both. thanks alot guys..Ill keep trying when I have more t...

Thanks FP I reset the modem and router. Its weird, I can browse the net on both computers. I can access the network (shared docs etc.) only from the second computer the kids one.
