I paid $920 for a pentium pro 200 like 8 years ago with a $320 motherboard and sold the combo with 64mb ram 3 years later for $300. It was pretty stupid. But I would say video card is the most overpriced hardware. I am using an ATI 8500 which I bought in 2 months ago. I will not pay $300 for a video...

A dell would be a good solution. I have 5 panaflo L1A 80mm fans and a enermax psu to keep my computer quiet.
