I combat PC rage by remembering that the box I'm pissed off at cost me around $1500 and if I break it, I don't have another $1500 to replace the parts I broke

Yea, a gig of ram sure is nice. I had a gig of no name stuff for quite a while, but it wasn't as good as a gig of good stuff. I have since ditched it for a dual channel 2x256 corsair TwinX DDR 400 kit, but after I buy my new mobo and processor, I'll be getting a gig of dual channel PC 3500 or higher.

I checked out the LAN website, but I didn't see a page saying exactly where you were (and I know the next lan isn't till next year). But I was wondering, where exactly are you? I am in Ohio, so it might actually be possible for me to attend next years lan, and it sounds like a ton of fun.

I never liked the look of split-loom cable. I usually just leave the top drive bay of my case open and stuff any extra power cables up in there. Well, as far as lightning goes, if it even gets dark outside I unplug all of my computers, network equipment, and the phone line that connects to the network equipment. Even if insurence would cover it, it isn't worth going through the trouble when I could just unplug it anyway.
