I had always wondered about this myself. It pretty much followed my supposition, but I liked the detail they went into on this. It is sad that what's really holding space silicone back is just that it's not worth the effort.

I get the impression they are still in the prototyping phase. So, they may go larger. Or there may be worries about the size causing cracks or being more likely to fail. Did you see the read/write times? Definitely just for archival purposes.
