The CPU going bad doesn't produce more heat (from what I have learned on these forms). If the CPU is getting hot it is because there isn't sufficient cooling via the HSF. Yamaha 24/10/40 and I love this burner. A little expensive, but I like the 8 Meg buffer.

Thanks for the info. BTW don't let my location fool you, I'm in the Air Force stationed in Germany and I can get anthing sent me to my APO address via NY so shipping isn't a problem. I'll check those sites out.

Lmandrake what is the best place to get the materials to put together such a system?

Does anyone know of an on-line store in the US where this HSF can be purchased? I saw a review indicating that it cooled very well with little noise. I have searched eveywhere I can think of but haven't found it at any site.
