Thanks, FlyingPenguin...I dug another router out of the closet and had instant success. Obviously I had hoped to fix it in the way you suggested, but never had any luck altering the IP addresses.
Thanks again,
TheDozen

Network router problem
I have been sharing a cable modem connection among 3 computers for some time now through a Linksys (BEFSR41) router and running WinXP. However, one day recently I discovered that only one computer was accessing the cable connection (its IP address begins with 192) whereas the other two communicate w...

Vidcard problems
Recently my computer has run in trouble when I've tried to a) resize the resolution or b) run a game. I tried installing the GeForce2 NVidia drivers for Windows 98 and had no luck do either of those. I then uninstalled these and installed the default (CD) drivers that originally came with the card. ...

Taking parts of mp3s
Are there programs that let you make excerpts of mp3s so that you can record a small part of a song? I am hoping to take about 45 seconds from each of 5 different ones and wondered what program could do this.
Thanks,

Just to clarify my brother's post a little, we have an HP 9340i, which supports CloneCD, but haven't had luck with that or Nero. We have CompUSA as well as PNY media. I know both are cheap, but they should work. I really am clueless about burning, but my brother has made probably ten coasters trying...

CD-R question
I am trying to copy several game CD's at the moment so that I can take the games to college. Before I make any more coasters, I'd like to know what program you use and any other help that might be useful. Thanks very much.

Spectre Supreme was a game I played around 6-7 years ago for the first time on my old Mac. It was a pretty solid game that I bet I could still get back into...especially b/c it was so simple for a retail game. Warcraft II is not all that old I guess, but it certainly goes without saying.... -TheDozen

Thanks, guys. A couple of points: 1. No, this is not overclocked. 2. I'm not sure about upgrading IE; I'm not sure whether it has to do with IE at all, but I suppose it could have been its fault. 3. This morning Windows 98 has been golden: I played a game of Madden, surfed for an hour, and listened ...

Odd stuff
Just today, I was in Windows Explorer on my 1.2 Ghz Athlon and I got a message saying that explorer was not working and that I had to reinstall windows ('98). The weird thing is, I can still get into '98, but it crashes after a while (for example, I went downstairs for an hour, and when I returned, ...

Fixed!
Thanks very much, FlyingPenguin!
I tried that alternate method of changing the driver and it worked this time...before when the driver files were loading they wouldn't go through, but now I am typing to music and all is well.
See you all later,

I tried to patch the drivers for my Acoustic Edge sound card (PSC 706) at www.philipsusa.com and wound up making by Windows 2000 Professional side of the dual boot go kind of crazy. After I restarted, I got the blue screen of death (Win2000 style of course), and had to restart again. Since then, I h...
