As you can see from the specs i'm not running a low end machine but it never makes it above 53c under full load with an ambient room temp of 30c
I love this fan/sink combo i've still got my v8se,v7+ and v9 and it stomps on any others i've had..

I must say i'm a bit of a TT fanboy but have actually tried other stuff i've just found the way I put my rigs together they seem to work the best.. I also use AS3 between the hs/cpu so that might help some..

I've been meaning to do that. Just haven't got around to it yet. But, those heatsinks were tested the exact same way in the same setup, and you can see the full results here for the SLK900A and Swiftech using various fans, and here for the V12.

Here's with using the 80mm tornado on top speed, and on a quiet speed:

For the V12 at various speed level:

The SLK900 is TOP DOG. Close call between the swiftech and the V12. The fan on the V12 isn't as powerful as the tornado, but it's less noisy. Plus the fan comes with the V12 and those two fan controllers (major plus). Of the swiftech and the V12, I'd choose the v12. Especially once the cost is considered.

do you need to use the fan controller?

Nope. You can have it run at top speed or temp controlled. Included with the V12 is a very thin temp sensor that will fit on the bottom of the cpu. It threads through the pins.

do you need to use the fan controller?

or is it more of an option?

I would run it with out if I was to get it

Sweet!

I really like that fan as well!! That HSF would go great in DRaGO (Black case w/window, red dragon applique on the window, red 4 LED fans, Rounded Red IDE cables).. I wish they'd had something that looked like that out when I bought the SK-6+ I put on DRaGo for the PCALAN.. lol.. eGo

speaking of fans... YS needs to get off thier ass and make the 80 and 92 and 120 versions of the TMD fans... i have one on my cpu using a adapter i made and it rocks and is silent. the loudest thing in my case is my HD!

ya i'd like to find one to put on my SLK800 lol this POS i have on here now isn't cutting it well.

No doubt. Finally something very good from Thermaltake besides cool looks.

Hope they release that fan by itself and with the fan controllers. That would easily be the fan of choice for overclockers. Even moreso if they made a 92mm version.

It is much less annoying on the higher speeds than the delta/tornado fans. No high-pitched whine.

I really like that fan... when are they gonna realise that by using less blades they will in turn cause less turbulance resulting in less noise. Thumb up for Thermaltake with that fan! :)

By far the best yet from Thermaltake.

Includes two fan controllers. One either for a front 3.5" bay or one for a rear pci slot cover.

They wanted this to be a stand alone review, but on top speed it cools as well as the new swiftech heatsink with an 80mm tornado on top speed.
