Cool Scan to PDF at Staples. $9.99 for 100 pages & includes 2Gb USB drive

Not sure if this is a special or their usual deal. You buy a $9.99 2Gb store brand USB flash drive and you get 100 pages scanned to PDF for free. Additional pages are 25 cents a page.

Hell of a lot better deal than Office Depot which charges $2.99 plus 25 cents a page.

I had 116 page document I needed scanned to PDF. Even with an auto-feed scanner this is tedious as hell and aggravating, and I was short on time. So bottom line Staples scanned it all in an hour while I went to dinner and put it on the USB drive for $15. Office Depot would have charged me $31.99 and I would have had to supply my own flash drive.

Wow, That does sound like a great deal, but I don't have any stores near me.
Just a thought, could you have bought 2 thumb drives and got 200 pages scanned, then do the 119 pages free and have 89 left for later?

Not really sure how that works, do you have to get the pages scanned when you buy the drive or you can you just go back when you need pages later?

Yeah, it's 100 pages only at the time of purchase. If it's less than 100 pages you just get however many pages done for free + the price of the flash drive.

It's okay flash drive, nothing fancy. It has the Staples logo on it.

Another thing is that whatever PDF conversion algorithm the copier uses, it's efficient. A 116 page PDF came out to under 900K in B & W and it's not dithered and very sharp and clear.
